Part of our adventure is to have a simple farm stand where we can offer plants and eventually veggies (maybe fruit too) for sale. Today was our first day! It wasn't exactly a "Grand Opening" as it rained nearly all day but we didn't expect anyone to notice us on the first day anyway. Perhaps after a little while - - - There's nothing exotic on the stand - some useful everyday herbs, some edible flowers and my heritage tomatoes - and I am very proud of my heritage tomato plants. I've grown 6 different varieties and they are all raring to go! I haven't grown tomatoes from seed before but with some very helpful advice I've got 73 healthy seedlings - and I can't use them all myself! I've included a binder and a poster with some useful information about the plants and how to grow them. Since I am learning a lot myself I thought that others may be grateful for the advice too! Drop by if you are in the area and if there are no tomato plants on the stall I've probably got plenty more in the greenhouse!
Just in case you're curious about the tomato plants - I have: Green Zebra Ailsa Craig Black Cherry Principe Borghese Striped Roman and the very tiny Hawaiian Currant - great for children to nibble!
